Tahniah ATAU Takziah?

So, what is Mahathir trying to prove?

I am still in shock, and totally devastated to read the news of Che Det’s sudden exit from the United Malays National Organization.

The country is in deep drain. I was made known of his decision from reading the statement in Che Det’s blog and it got me startled. At first, I appraised the brave step he took to correct what went wrong in the party, but after some rationale thought (which came way after I commented on his blog – Tun, I respect whatever decision you have made, and will make in the future. And i always believe that you think things through before making them. Making a different to the world means big sacrifice. Well done!), it got me thinking.

How the outside world is looking at us? Would there be anymore stability when one of the most sought after leader in the country no longer have faith in its organization and decided to leave? Yes, he could condemn, he could right whatever is wrong but to quit from the party … what was he thinking?

I have the utmost respect to the guy, but it bugs me a lot to note that his departure from the party come at the expense of the country. I see that the foreigners are laughing hard at our face, and there goes the national credibility. Your hope of a great 2020 is shattered when you realise that Tun is no longer there to ‘direct’ and necessitate changes to the party. The great man becomes an average man overnight.

Is it the right decision? Will this mean that Anwar’s era would come sooner than what you would have expected?

Don’t get me wrong. I love Anwar. I bought Newsweek (which I don’t normally read) upon knowing that he was on the cover. That was a great reading by the way. And last week or so when he was in the 100 Most Influential Man in Times magazine, I quickly grab a copy before it runs out. Anwar’s story has always been a enjoyable reading.

But Anwar is no Tun. I would have a tough choice deciding the man I would love to administer the country (Anwar vs Mahathir) as each have its own strength and weaknesses, but I think Mahathir AND Anwar combination was the best the country has ever had. If only things were different then.

dear,

it is refreshing seeing this sort of post from you, missy :)

there have been numerous reactions to TDM's decision recently. it is hotly debated and discussed among us on the land.

rest assure, that he has complex calculations in his mind.

first, the notion and motion of mr. anwar ibrahim to 'hijack' the parliament by the means of 'crossing zebras' are almost as real as it gets.

second, our beloathed premier is a bit reluctant to step down albeit the obvious signals given nationwide.

third, the influx of national disunity are far more greater than before.

fourth, his aspirations of having united malays are getting dimmer.

fifth, we're losing ground on our sovereignty. be it policies including economic zones e.g. IDR or the unfortunate event of prada brancha.

sixth, the country especially the Malays, are witnessing what few proponents of Malaysian Malaysia's idea, as the collapse of the landlord (Malays).

seventh, the inevitable arrival of 'justice, equality & freedom'.

eigth, the economic & socio-politics repercussions set to befall on Malaysia & her people.

the list could go on and on.

you must remember, the last political struggle for power & positions, we had the negatively infamous May Day.

so, this old man thought he could help averting the ugly thing to repeat itself. the old man is nevertheless, not alone albeit cursed at and jeered at.

meanwhile, it is interesting that you mentioned about mr anwar's contributions to the country. maybe i should read more on this particular subject - anwar's contributions.

also, it was startlingly interesting to realize that the man who strongly advocates for anwar's rise to the Time's 100 most influential was mr. paul wolfowitz himself.

i hope you would have the chance to study & investigate the Foundation for Future organisation, the backers & the sitters.

fate has it that, mr. anwar's rise to political importance and stardom have much come to scrutinies.

no one forgot how he 'handle' our beloved mr. ghafar bin baba.

no one forgot the 'crony lists' which he so craved to prove that someone else's downfall.

is he going to repeat them by taking the parliament by storm without a fresh GE?

true, both was a lethal combination when both was in the government. but observing history, i must say only one did it for the love of the country & her people. which one, you decide.

the drama ensues, i just hope that no matter which allegiance or side we're on, it is not the people at large who would be on the nasty receiving end.

in order to have the right answer, we must pose the right question.

*this comment is pure rubbish..hehe

Hey there Mr (I wish you could let me know who you are. Gosh, why does everyone wants to remain anonymous).

These past few days, i got thinking again. Tun quitting the party was a bold move, and looking at the sort of comments that people has put on his blog, i would say that he is gaining wide-spread support from the nation. But, why doesn't people follow suit? This is Malaysian TONA - Talk Only, No Action.

Looking at your comment, i guess you are no supporter of Anwar. Don't get me wrong. I am not a huge supporter of him, but i am a supporter of a strong leadership and by the look of it, Anwar is the best candidate to lead the country at the moment (But having said that, I would vote for Tun anytime!). Not the current PM, or event his deputy who has been groomed well over the past few years to take over, but still lack that certain factor that Tun posses.

With all the political struggle and Ezam crossing over, there sure is a lot of those great uncertainty for the country's political future.

Thank you anonymous. But certainly, it was my pleasure reading your comment.

hmm.. all right, obviously u are someone i know. Gee... I hate my new look. I colored my hair, and i hated the fact that i dont look so-Malay anymore. How i wish i didnt make that bold move.

But sometimes, loud action is a necessity.

Read the comments from Chedet's blog. Some great feedback from the masses.

of course i know you, and you of me.

i've been in and around few political blogs. i'm easily disturbed merely for political reasons these days.

to be honest, i despise politics. i despise politics for the very reason that it is so important in dictating our lives as mere laymen.

and what's more distressing is that if we choose to ignore it, more politicians will take advantage of us laymen. defining definitions for us when we have our own clear definitions.

i'm now horrificly thinking and looking into options of how we can stop irresponsible politics to veer in our way, to avert possible catastrophe for our children.

i think, unscrupulous politicians & politics must be stopped at any cost.

hehe. see? it's getting to my nerves this politics thingy.

:)

anyway dear, keep left.

remember, there's no such thing as truth until all of us can actually be free of influences.

that's why i hope you 'keep left' all of the time.

vive le revolucion!

First of all,
So many anonymous in this blog that i wish some would give that certain name to it. Hey, it can be anonymous A. Haha, at least i know who is who :D. Agreed?

Secondly, I could not agree more about stopping unscrupulous politicians & politics, but at any cost ..? What is to become of us? But if it means salvation of our freedom, why not?

Will try shifting my gear to left.
